Additional funding for UNDP’s NDC grants can greatly enhance the reach and impact of direct grants by enabling more targeted and scalable interventions in climate-vulnerable regions. With increased resources, UNDP can support a larger number of countries, particularly those with limited capacity to implement their NDCs, thereby boosting national climate ambition and action. This expanded support will facilitate the replication of successful Indigenous-led climate initiatives, promote cross-country learning, and elevate local voices in the global climate dialogue. Furthermore, additional funding strengthens nations’ abilities to meet their climate commitments, ensuring that benefits reach the most marginalized communities, including Indigenous Peoples.
